Naama Almog and Nitzan Dagan

Here Lived

Nitzan is originally from Kibbutz Maoz Haim, and Naama is from Moshav Talmei Yosef.

They met in Be’er Sheva, married at El Hayaen Ostrich Farm near Nir Oz, and moved to Talmei Yosef. When their eldest daughter Ella was born, she joined the Nir Oz early-childhood program. This was how they became acquainted with the kibbutz and its community. They fell in love with the place and its atmosphere.

When their second daughter Agam was born, they moved to the kibbutz, which became their home. Their youngest child, Eitan, was also born there.

Life on the kibbutz, surrounded by friends and community, with Naama’s family nearby in the area, was ideal. For them, it was paradise.

October 7th

On October 6, Nitzan travelled abroad, so Naama and the children went to stay with her parents, planning to return on October 7 for the kibbutz’s traditional kite festival in the fields.

On October 7, Naama and the children were with her parents and her sister Noa in the safe room at Talmei Yosef. During long hours of combat, the violence reached the outskirts of the Talmei Yosef, yet the terrorists didn’t enter the moshav.

Nitzan’s trip saved their lives.

What Happened Since

They now live in Emek HaMaayanot Regional Council, near Nitzan’s family.
