Itzik was born on July 1, 1955. He was a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz, which he joined following his late brother Eli and his sister-in-law Rachel.
Itzik was the kibbutz’s maintenance man, an avid soccer fan and a devoted supporter of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Itzik was a beloved figure in the community. For many years, he served the kibbutz as groundskeeper, overseeing plumbing, gas and steam maintenance. He was funny and young at heart — devoted, principled and a lover of people. He was an inseparable part of the social fabric, spending time at the local pub, hosting friends and bridging generations. His great love for soccer and backgammon was well known, and he was a familiar presence at local games, always with a smile and a good spirit.
Itzik was abducted from his home on October 7 and murdered in captivity more than five months later. His body was held by terrorists for more than eleven months before it was returned to Israel on February 27, 2025.
Itzik was laid to rest in the Nir Oz cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, a son, a brother and two sisters.
He was 68 years old at the time of his death.
