Carol Siman Tov

Carol was born on September 7, 1953, in Pennsylvania, United States. She made aliyah in 1974 and arrived in Kibbutz Nir Oz with Larry and Rena.

Over the years, Carol met the late Freddy, who had come to the kibbutz with a Nahal group.

Freddy and Carol married on a raft he had built in the swimming pool, and together they lovingly raised Rena, Koren, Amit and Yehonatan.

Carol worked as a metapelet with children and in various other roles on the kibbutz until she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She attended nursing school in Ashkelon and worked as a nurse on the kibbutz for many years, primarily in mother-and-child health and elder care.

Koren, Amit and Yehonatan chose to remain in Nir Oz, raising their own families alongside her. Over the years, they became known as the “Siman Tov Tribe,” a family Carol was immensely proud of. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, bringing her great joy. The “Siman Tov Tribe” consisted of four children and eleven grandchildren.

All that goodness and beauty was shattered in an instant with unimaginable cruelty on that most horrific of days – October 7.

She was 70 years old at the time of her death.

May Carol’s memory be a blessing.
