Here Lived
This was Carol and Freddy Siman Tov’s home.
Freddy came to the kibbutz with a youth group (Garin Nahal) and passed away from cardiac arrest in 1998, when he was only 42 years old.
Carol came to the kibbutz from the United States in 1974, with her daughter Ranae, and together with Freddy, built a family in Nir Oz.
Carol, a nurse by profession, was known on the kibbutz as the Mythological Nurse of Nir Oz. She cared for everyone who needed her help, always with professionalism, warmth, and love.
Carol and Freddy had three more children: Koren, Amit, and Yahonatan.
The house always teemed with grandchildren and joy, meals, gatherings, grandchildren sleeping over, delights, laughter, and a lot of togetherness and love.
October 7th
On October 7, 2023, Carol was murdered in her safe room with her dog, Charlie. She was 70 years old.
In another home on the kibbutz, her son Yahonatan was murdered along with his wife, Tamar, and their three children: Arbel, Shahar, and Omer.
Koren and Amit also lived on the kibbutz and survived with their families.
